Gus`s Pub in Vancouver Island

I think staff were a little stressed about the scheduled power outage on the north island...food was ok..but crab cakes were a little over cooked. ..will try it again though.

Tonight my Husband took me out to dinner at Gus's and let me to tell you, It was absolutely Amazing! I order the Blue Boy burger, my favorite, everyone should have it at least once. I don't know who the cook is, but that person is awesome and does an excellent job. All the girls there are super nice and welcoming. Love it at Gus's.

We came in early last Wednesday for the wings special. Overall the wings were okay. Not great. They were small and slightly over cooked. I had the Santa Fe Poutine and I was expecting more. It was small and served with old guac. I am hesitant to use the wprd guac since it was just smashed avocados thrown on top. On the menu it said thatthe poutine did not come with gravy, yet when it got to the table there was gravy on it. It was just a weird flavor combo. The service was okay. We had to wait a while for our drinks and for our order to be taken. The food came out at an okay pace. For one of the only restaurants in town it isn't bad but wouldn't hold up if something better opened up.

Big globs of fat on the beef dip. No refills on the soft drinks. Nice view of the ocean.

great pub right by the marina with a cool view of the boats. Food was good and the service was great. Very friendly staff and TVs to watch sports. Also had some bar games.

Didn't have chili for a burger so had the old standby beef dip(yawn).good beer taps great servce

Good food. Veggie wrap and burger were good but had a stong curry flavour, just good to know. Service was a bit slow but it was very busy when we were there

Always a good time!! The staff is amazing and the food is delicious. We always come here for date nights and just a fun relaxing atmosphere.

Ceasers are amazing! And they have the best chicken burgers you will ever eat!! Food came fast and staff was friendly!

Decent food, nice view. Waited on service for quite awhile though. One visit we didn't even get water or a menu for almost 15 mins and were sitting right in front of two servers. 2 nd visit was much better and so far the food quality is consistent.

Dave's wife, writing. I loved the food, served to me, March 8. I ordered a veggie wrap, not expecting anything in particular. It was so delicious, I wolfed it down like someone eating her last meal. That won't be the last meal I eat at Gus's. Your pub food suits me. Thank-you. Ramona Jones

Food was terrific. Had the cauliflower soup and crispy oysters. It was fresh and came out in a timely manner. Service was a little off. Server appeared tired and showed little enthusiasm for being there today. Hope she finds her happy place.

Quite standard fare, burgers, fish 'n chips, wraps. Lots of tvs with sports games on. Nice view of the harbour.

Friendly fast service, come here everytime I pop into town. Great food everytime

Very poor service. Beer came flat. I had to walk back to the server to get another one. Never came back to see if we wanted food. I had to return to the bar to pay. The place was not very busy and there seemed to be enough staff on. Server seemed more interested on her phone then working.

Large portions. I liked that my burger was not salty. Would have liked a choice for craft beer. Friendly staff

Decent place by marina. They have an outdoor patio. Various salads, sandwiches, wraps and burgers, usually with three different fresh fish sandwiches, served with choice of soup, salad or fries. Good curly fries! Friendly staff.

Always good food and service. Halibut and fries excellent.

Excellent food, great staff with good stories. A must if you are up in The area.

Horrible! Soup was bad, i had the crunchy oysters and they were spoiled. Got food poisoning! Eat there at your own risk.

Had the steak sandwich, a bit salty to my taste but the sreak was tender.

We found this place on the last day of our holiday - I wish we’d found it sooner! The food, service and staff were all outstanding and if it wasn’t for the fact that we will be on the other side of the world we would be going back! The best place to eat in the town!

Great pub grub pretty much best in Port McNeill!?

Came in after lunch rush. Had a great lunch with a couple Caesar's. Great view from anywhere in the pub.

Love this place for the Pulled Pork Poutine and Beer. Can't go wrong with that combination. It's a fill to take in. Be sure to be ready to eat a good size portion.

Good hearty food. interesting local specialty"Poutine" which is fries, gravy and cheese curds. We had Sweet Poutine which was the same but with sweet potato fries. Better than it sounds!

The pub has amazing food and service. Fish and chips with a beer then this FANTASTIC chocolate brownie, cheescake, yummy dessert! You NEED to try it especially if you're a chocolate lover 😊 I definitely recommend Gus's Pub 👍👍

Its okay. The food isnt much to write home about and it's quite obvious that its premade.

Nice pub, good choice of beers and the food is delicious! I've taken the poutine and the quesadillas and were fantastic!
